Hospice of Central Michigan, Inc.
Mt. Pleasant, MI

This grant will help to support the construction of Handicapped-Accessible Nature Trails for Hospice House, that will provide paths that wind through the woods and grounds to enable clients faced with life-limiting illness and their families the freedom to be independent and experience nature, even in the winter.  The ability to enjoy the accessible trails will offer aid in decreasing depression, increasing appetite, as well as helping to decrease paid and anxiety.  Family and caregivers also benefit.  Grant funds support programmatic expenses.  This grant was funded through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Award #1U59DD000338).
