Jewish Vocational Service of MetroWest
East Orange, NJ
This grant will help to fund an online peer support group for home-based workers with physical disabilities, a component of the New Jersey Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services' newly created Telecommuting Pilot Program that is being administered through Jewish Vocational Services. The program provides individuals with physical disabilities home-based employment opportunities through the use of cutting-edge technology, and the online peer support group will provide all 20 clients a virtual office environment, led by a vocational counselor. Three times a year, an employment-focused training luncheon will be planned by the project manager, where the group will have the opportunity to mix and mingle, face-to-face, while learning about employment topics customized to their needs and presented by a trained instructor. This grant was funded by a generous financial donation from ICAP, the world's leading interdealer broker.
