This grant will help to fund SHUTTERBUGS: An Adapted Photography Club Empowering Medically Fragile Children with the Flip of a Switch. The Shutterbugs Club will be a pilot program enabling children and teens with limited mobility to unleash their creative potential by using adapted cameras for self-expression. While the majority of children have complex medical issues and cannot easily express themselves in words, specialized technology enables even severely disabled children to express themselves creatively. The project will run for approximately four months and will culminate with a photo exhibit. All hardware and software created will continue to be available for the club and all other residents to use following the photo exhibit. Grant funds will support programmatic equipment. This grant was funded through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Award #1U59DD000338).
