Pocahontas Woods, Inc.
Marlinton, WV

This grant will provide wheelchair access to high-end woodworking education to those who are motivated to learn the trade and are wheelchair users, with special emphasis on those who have spinal cord injuries but have adequate upper body strength -- T-1 level or below.  Specifically, the grant will help to underwrite the purchase of two accessible basic pieces of power equipment, a jointer and a table saw specially designed for disabled operators, and some small power and hand tools duplicating those currently on the facility's upper level.  Further, the ground floor's equipment layout will be reconfigured to accommodate the new machines and to increase wheelchair accessibility.  This grant was funded by a generous financial donation from ICAP, the world's leading interdealer broker.
