Indiana State Council of the Emergency Nurses Association, Inc.
This grant will help to fund the Indiana Emergency Nurses Association State Council Rural Outreach Training, and specifically will support the Trauma Nursing Core Course and the Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course. Every attendee learns the mechanisms of injury and trauma, practices how to handle acute assessment of trauma patients, and demonstrates skills for assessment, treatment, management and evaluation. The Association will offer adult and pediatric international standardized trauma skills training to every practicing emergency nurse in the state.
Additionally, grant funds will cover expenses for an Association emergency nurse volunteer to participate on a national education webinar for the Paralysis Resource Center on the subject of trauma skills training. This grant was funded through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Award #1U59DD000338).
