This grant will help to fund the Successful Bridges Teen Program, which works with children with spina bifida ages 14 -- 18 years old and their families to help them move toward self-sufficiency and reach the developmental milestones of their peers. The overall goal of the program is to support the families and their teens with spina bifida in their transition into adulthood. More specifically, the goal for the Teen Clinic is to provide an environment for the teens to develop self-directed health maintenance skills and the parents to acknowledge their achievements in this area. Grant funds will support programmatic expenses. This grant was funded through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Award #1U59DD000338).
