Meet our athletes participating in this year's Marine Corps, Bank of America Chicago, and ING New York City marathons.
Great Neck, NY
On a November evening in 2000, a drunk driver ran a red light while Ethan was crossing Delancey Street in lower Manhattan and hit another car. Both cars hurtled him into the windshield of another car 50 feet away. The accident left Ethan paralyzed from the middle of the chest down and unable walk.
Ethan is a person that goes out of his way to help others. He is kind, generous, motivated, and spreads positive energy everywhere he goes. But to me, the quality I admire most about Ethan is his ability to inspire these traits in others, including myself.
So to answer the question on why I am running this year's NYC marathon, it's simple…I am running to raise funds and awareness that I know will one day result in my good friend Ethan walking again.
