Quality of Life Grants: 2nd Cycle 2008: Actively Achieving
BlazeSports America (formerly United States Disabled Athletes Fund)
This grant will help to fund the Success in Sport and Life Camp and Train-the-Trainer Initiative. The Success in Sport and Life is a leadership and sport training camp for up to 50 youth with a variety of physical disabilities ages 12-19 years from across the country, as well as an opportunity to train service providers to implement similar programs in their home communities. The 5-day camp will be held at the state-of-the-art camp facilities at the Roosevelt Warm Springs Institute for Rehabilitation in Warm Springs, Georgia and will integrate sport performance, leadership and mental skills development activities that translate into all aspects of life. Grant funds will support programmatic expenses. This grant was funded through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Award #1U59DD000338).
