Quality of Life Grants: 2nd Cycle 2008: Actively Achieving

Carriage Barn Equestrian Center Therapeutic Riding Program, Inc.
Newton, NH

This grant will help to support the development of a safe, light-weight prototype of a competitive driving carriage designed to meet the needs of quadriplegic and paraplegic clients. No such carriage currently exists. As a result, more spinal cord injured clients will be able to participate in the therapeutic carriage driving program at the Center, and it could be used as a model in the sport. Specifically, grant funds will help support engineering costs. This grant was funded through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Award #1U59DD000338).
