Quality of Life Grants: 2nd Cycle 2008: Actively Achieving

Cerebral Palsy of Colorado, Inc.
Denver, CO

This grant will support the Employment Works Youth Initiative, a program which provides opportunities for youth with disabilities, significant disabilities and other employment-related challenges to leave behind the stereotypically low-expectations of transitioning into adulthood and explore the world of employment and independent responsibilities. Youth, often for the first time, leave their comfort zones and network with employers, gain new perspectives on becoming a leader in their own life and enter into consistent and routine activities related to employment. The final outcome for all youth is related to paid employment and/or higher education leading to greater independence. Grant funds will support programmatic expenses. This grant was funded through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Award #1U59DD000338).
