Quality of Life Grants: 2nd Cycle 2008: Actively Achieving
Oregon Games, Inc.
This grant will help to support Introducing Sport! Bridging the Gap, an introductory disabled sports and fitness program for physically disabled people in the state of Oregon. The program consists of two parts: one part will introduce sporting activities to newly injured youth and adults on a regular, consistent basis, and the second part is an equipment loan program. Sports will include wheelchair basketball, wheelchair rugby, handcycling and wheelchair tennis, with equipment being available for loan in each of these sports. Grant funds will help to underwrite the purchase of programmatic equipment. This grant was funded through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Award #1U59DD000338).
