Quality of Life Grants: 2nd Cycle 2008: Bridging Barriers

This grant will help to fund the Recreational Assistive Technology Demonstration and Lending (RATDL) Project, which provides recreational assistive technologies for people with disabilities in Minnesota to trial and lend in an effort to educate consumers, families and professionals on the vast recreational opportunities available with utilization of assistive technology. Through a partnership with Minnesota Regional Assistive Technology Networks and members of Minnesota Regions Assistive Technology Collaborative, it is anticipated that the program will be able to serve the whole state of Minnesota. Grant funds will help to underwrite the purchase of programmatic adaptive equipment, in the following specific areas: video gaming, photography, fishing, bowling, darts, pool, golf, biking, hunting, music/TV and toys. This grant was funded through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Award #1U59DD000338).
