Quality of Life Grants: 1st Cycle 2009: Actively Achieving
Access Northern California
This grant will help to support the Access to Trails project, in which people with spinal cord injuries will be trained to survey trails for accessibility, and with this information create a web-based trail guide that will enable wheelchair riders to easily locate an appropriate hike for their particular access needs. The project will also identify physical barriers that could be readily removed and work with park & trail agencies to facilitate eliminating these barriers. Grant funds will support programmatic expenses. This grant is funded through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Award #1U59DD000338).
