Quality of Life Grants: 1st Cycle 2009: Actively Achieving
This grant will help to support an Adaptive Rowing Program for youth and adults with disabilities. The on-the-water rowing classes are held during the spring through the fall, and are complemented with indoor rowing classes, weight training sessions and competitions offered during the winter months. Grant funds will help to underwrite the purchase of programmatic equipment; specifically two Alden Adaptive Rowing Boats, two adaptive riggings, and eight WinTech Adaptive Rowing Seats. This grant is funded through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Award #1U59DD000338).
