Quality of Life Grants: 1st Cycle 2009: Actively Achieving

John A. Coleman School
White Plains, NY

This grant will help to support the Let’s Ride a Bike program at the White Plains location of the John A. Coleman School. The White Plains campus is one of the largest providers of home, community and center-based pre-school special education in Westchester County, providing services to 300 children from over 25 school districts in the areas of Westchester, Putnam, Bronx and Manhattan. Grant funds will help to underwrite the purchase of three adaptive tricycles complete with all safety gear. This grant is funded through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Award #1U59DD000338).
