Quality of Life Grants: 1st Cycle 2009: Actively Achieving

This grant will help to fund an educational conference for people with spinal cord injuries, their families and interested professionals. The main goals of the conference are to help attendees: 1) identify resources pertaining to vocational rehabilitation and returning to work; 2) recognize the impact of social isolation and the importance of community reintegration to improve quality of life; and 3) network with professionals, spinal cord injury survivors, their families, and interested professionals on the services available to promote active healthy living and give hope to those living with spinal cord injury for a better quality of life today and in the future. Grant funds will support programmatic expenses. This grant is funded through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Award #1U59DD000338
