Quality of Life Grants: 1st Cycle 2009: Actively Achieving

Triton Museum of Art
Santa Clara, CA

This grant will help to fund ArtReach at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center (VMC), a hands-on arts program that enhances the healing process by addressing the entire person and therefore is geared to improve the quality of life for rehabilitating adults and children recovering from disabling spinal cord or neurological injuries or stroke. The program uses a modified version of the California standards-based curriculum developed by the museum. The curriculum is customized to meet the needs of the patients. Grant funds will support programmatic supplies. This grant is funded through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Award #1U59DD000338).
