Variety – The Children's Charity (Heart of Variety Fund)
This grant will help to fund Camp Variety for Kids, an annual one-week summer camp program at no cost for children with disabilities and their siblings, ages 21 and under, residing in southwestern Pennsylvania. Camp Variety for Kids is a comprehensive, community-based recreational and educational program of physical and mental stimulation in a safe, outdoor environment designed to foster independence and participation in adaptive, age-appropriate, and peer group activities for kids of all abilities while providing respite for families and caregivers. Any activity can be adapted so that all children can participate and contribute. Grant funds will support programmatic expenses, including sports equipment, arts and craft supplies, and accessible transportation for campers. This grant is funded through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Award #1U59DD000338).
