Quality of Life Grants: 2nd Cycle 2009: Bridging Barriers
Advocates for the Disabled
This Quality of Life Grant helps to support programs that provide free-of-charge services to people living with serious disabling conditions, including paralysis, who are also experiencing homelessness, and/or living in poverty. Support services include: assistance in obtaining ongoing disability benefits; managing client benefits if needed; accessing community resources for basic daily living needs; providing targeted free legal services for disability matters; and empowering clients to self-advocate on an ongoing basis. Grant funds will support programmatic expenses. This grant was funded through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Award # 1U59DD000388).
