Quality of Life Grants: 2nd Cycle 2009: Bridging Barriers

Fragile Kids Foundation
Atlanta, GA

This Quality of Life grant will help to fund the Partners Program, which provides support, medical equipment and therapy supplies to select program partners at small, predominately rural medical day care, respite and community educational programs. The goal is to assure that the children who are wheelchair users and have special needs that participate in small residential or community care programs have the tools to meet rehabilitative goals, receive the support and medical interpretation their caregivers require, and have access for safe transport for all medical support programs and therapies they pursue. Grant funds will help to underwrite the cost of programmatic therapeutic equipment. This grant was funded through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Award # 1U59DD000388).
