Quality of Life Grants: 2nd Cycle 2009: Caring and Coping

National Rehabilitation Hospital
Washington, DC

This Quality of Life grant will help to support The NRH Spinal Cord Injury Peer Mentor Program, which will provide individual and group mentoring services to patients with newly-acquired spinal cord injuries within the NRH Rehabilitation Network and across the MedStar Health System. The mentors are all living with spinal cord injuries themselves and will be trained and supervised by the Coordinator of Vocational Rehabilitation at NRH. Grant funds will support programmatic funds for the Peer Mentor Program. This grant was funded through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Award # 1U59DD000388).
