Quality of Life Grants: 1st Cycle 2010: Bridging Barriers

National Multiple Sclerosis Society – Eastern NC Chapter
Raleigh, NC

This grant will help to support the Removing Barriers to Independence -- Equipment Loan Program, which ensures that people living with multiple sclerosis can continue to live an active and independent lifestyle after diagnosis. Through the equipment loan program, the chapter frequently provides short and long term loans to clients who need durable medical equipment. The requested funds would assist the chapter in expanding the current loan closet and will allow the chapter to refurbish older and worn equipment. Grant funds will help to underwrite the purchase of a power wheelchair for the loan program. This grant is funded through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Award # 1U59DD000338).
