Quality of Life Grants: 1st Cycle 2010: Caring and Coping

Arizona Spinal Cord Injury Association
Phoenix, AZ

This grant will help to support the Applied Mentoring Activity Series, which helps people heal through peer support, shared experience and the rediscovery of sports and activities they enjoyed prior to paralysis. This includes a statewide expansion of the peer mentoring program, increasing social and recreational activities and creating additional support for accessible sports teams and recreational activities. Grant funds will support the baseball, bowling and hike activities. This grant is funded through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Award # 1U59DD000338).
