Quality of Life Grants: 1st Cycle 2010: Caring and Coping

National Decubitus Foundation (NDF)
Aurora, CO

This grant will help to support a project to expand upon the NDF Prevention Protocol established as a proven methodology by research published in Advances in Skin & Wound Care, July 2008. Selection of an effective pressure redistribution support surface is an essential element of that protocol. Literature search in conjunction with finite element analysis will be used to enable evaluation and selection of suitable support surfaces for both prone and seated patients. Grant funds will help to support programmatic expenses. This grant is funded through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Award # 1U59DD000338).
