Quality of Life Grants: 2nd Cycle 2010: Actively Achieving
This Quality of Life grant will help to support the Friday Night Recreation program, where students in grades 4 through 12 at the Henry Viscardi School stay to play wheelchair sports (hockey, football, basketball); go to special interest clubs (computer, cooking, etc.); and play on the wheelchair accessible playground. The Henry Viscardi School serves almost 200 children (grades Pre-K through 12) with severe physical disabilities and rare diseases including atypical forms of spina bifida, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, muscular dystrophy, and cerebral palsy. Grant funds will support programmatic costs. This grant is funded through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Award # 1U59DD000338).
