Quality of Life Grants: 2nd Cycle 2010: Actively Achieving

Anchors Away Program Military/Veterans
Charleston, SC

This Quality of Life grant will help to support partnerships with Veterans Affairs in Washington DC, local Veterans Administration Hospitals, Wounded Warriors, and Disabled Sports USA, to offer veterans of mixed abilities and their families a broad range of opportunities to participate in recreational activities, including adaptive water skiing, kayaking, fishing and sailing voyages aboard different vessels. These activities create opportunities for participants to expand their boundaries and triumph over hurdles in their lives. Grant funds will support programmatic equipment. This grant is funded through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Award # 1U59DD000338).
