Quality of Life Grants: 2nd Cycle 2010: Actively Achieving

Montgomery Area Nontraditional Equestrians, Inc. (MANE)

This Quality of Life grant will help to support Horses and Hope -- Helping MANE Tack Up and Take Off! at this North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA) Premier Accredited Center. NARHA is a regulatory agency that assures stringent standards for quality therapeutic horseback riding through instructor certification, site accreditation, and program monitoring. This project will enable expansion of therapeutic riding program services to more individuals by upgrading programmatic equipment, including adaptive saddles and equestrian riding helmets. Grant funds will help to support the acquisition of programmatic equipment. This grant is funded through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Award # 1U59DD000338).
