Quality of Life Grants: 2nd Cycle 2010: Actively Achieving

Pennsylvania State University Military/Veterans
University Park, PA

This Quality of Life grant will support the Disability Recreation Program’s Wounded Warriors Workshops and Clinics for Inclusive Recreation for Wounded and Disabled Active Duty Soldiers, which will provide hands-on workshops and clinics for recreation managers who work with wounded and disabled active duty soldiers. As a result of taking this course, with its workshops and clinics, recreation managers will be able to design, adapt and modify recreation programs, equipment and services to enable more successful participation by wounded and disabled soldiers and their families. Grant funds will help to support expenses for programmatic athletic equipment. This grant is funded through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Award # 1U59DD000338).
