Quality of Life Grants: 2nd Cycle 2010: Actively Achieving

Salem Classical Fencing
Salem, OR

This Quality of Life grant will help to support the Wheelchair Fencing program. People living with paralysis will be taught how to fence while seated by providing basic fencing equipment, instruction, and coaching to youth and adults. Current fencers who do not need to use a wheelchair will be taught how to fence with those who do, so that seated fencers are fully integrated into regular programs. Grant funds will support programmatic equipment. This grant is funded through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Award # 1U59DD000338).
