Quality of Life Grants: 1st Cycle 2011: Actively Achieving

Sun Valley Adaptive Sports Program
Ketchum, ID

This grant will help to support the Higher Ground Flight School, which will utilize recent technological breakthroughs to provide the world's first adaptive paragliding program, with the goal of having participants achieve independent flight. This program will serve veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan with spinal cord injuries. Program staff will help connect veterans with resources in their hometowns to ensure they continue their progress at home and share their experiences with other people with spinal cord injuries. Grant funds will help to support programmatic equipment. This grant is funded through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Award # 1U59DD000338.)
