Quality of Life Grants: 1st Cycle 2011: Actively Achieving

That Uppity Theatre Company
Saint Louis, MO

This grant will help to support The DisAbility Project, a touring educational theatrical ensemble that performs original material about the culture of disability to a variety of audiences and venues including schools, corporations, social service agencies, cultural institutions, conferences, special events, and communities of faith. The group is comprised of people with and without disabilities who are diverse in age, race ethnicity, class, occupation, education, religion, sexual orientation, physical ability, and performance experience. Interaction with audiences, and post-show discussions and activities are an important part of the work. Grant funds will support programmatic expenses. This grant is funded through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Award # 1U59DD000338.)
