Quality of Life Grants: 1st Cycle 2011: Actively Achieving

Walton Foundation for Independence
Augusta, GA

This grant will help to expand the Community Outreach Programs. This will be accomplished by increasing the number of children sent to Camp To Be Independent (Camp TBI), growing the Adaptive Golf Program, holding the first wheelchair tennis tournament, and sustaining four support groups for patients and their families (Augusta Stroke Support Group, Brain Injury Support Group, Amputee Support Group and Spinal Injury Support Group.) Grant funds will help to underwrite the costs for programmatic golf course fees. This grant is funded through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Award # 1U59DD000338.)
