Bloomingdale Garden Club
Bloomingdale, IL
$10,748 - Other

This grant will help to support the Gardening Year Round program, which extends the gardening season into the non-traditional gardening months of January, February, March, November and December by bringing a part of the garden indoors to residents of the DuPage Convalescent Center. The program actively engages the residents cognitively, physically and creatively. The project includes the installation of a new accessible “Cutting Garden of the Everlastings,” the harvest of which will produce dried flowers to supplement garden craft projects for 40 residents and expand garden lessons for Master Gardeners. Grant funds will support programmatic expenses. This grant is funded through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Award #1U59DD000838-01).
