$3,600 - Therapeutic Horseback Riding
This grant will help PATH International, formerly the North American Handicapped Riders Association (NAHRA), to develop an enhanced online training and development curriculum, including new webinars and instructional content. This project addresses the ever-expanding range of programming in the field of equine-assisted activities and therapies for a growing population of individuals with paralysis and mobility impairments and other special needs.
The curriculum ensures that member facilities remain up to date on the latest developments in equine-assisted activities and therapies, adaptations needed for special populations, and ensures that all those served by PATH International centers receive the highest standards of excellence and safety in program delivery. Expanding the online training program provides easier access for sites in rural or more remote areas, where access to in-person workshops is limited. Grant funds will help to support expenses for the E-Learn-It software for the program. This grant is funded through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Award #1U59DD000838-01).
