Temple University, Boyer College of Music and Dance
Philadelphia, PA
$4,000 - Arts Program

This grant will help to support a project that will provide music instruction on orchestral instruments with concurrent psychosocial support to children ages 9 through 12 with paralysis in lower limbs and function in no more than one upper limb. The instruction will involve therapeutic support personnel and engineering students who will work with participants to create adaptations to the musical instruments to facilitate ease of playing. Grant funds will help to underwrite the purchase of orchestral instruments for the program. This grant is funded through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Award #1U59DD000838-01).
