Application Process and Requirements
There are two opportunities per year to apply for a Quality of Life grant. Applications are submitted online and reviewed in two periods, called Cycles, as listed below.
- 1st Cycle online application submission period opens early January
- 1st Cycle application submission deadline: February 15, 11:59 pm ET
- 1st Cycle decisions announced (and checks mailed) in June
- 2nd Cycle online application submission period opens July 1
- 2nd Cycle application submission deadline: August 15, 11:59 pm ET
- Decisions announced (and checks shipped) January the following year

Please note that deadlines falling on a weekend or holiday are moved to the next occurring week day. (For example, if March 1 falls on Saturday, the deadline is March 3). Applications are accepted up until 11:59 p.m. of the deadline date.
ALL APPLICANTS PEASE NOTE: When crafting your application, please be mindful of the Program Timeline above to ensure that the proposed project correlates with the program funding schedule.
STEP 1: Please start by reading the Quality of Life guidelines (PDF). Applications that do not adhere to the guidelines will be rejected without review. Further, before beginning the application, applicants are urged to review the documents below that were specially created to help you better understand what we want in the application.

STEP 2: Download the Quality of Life Grant Application form (doc) to your computer. When working on the application, please re-name the file and save as "Organization Name_City_State" (for example, Reeve_Short Hills_NJ). Detailed project budget instructions are included in the application guidelines, and must be followed. Prior grantees must include the final report on their most recent Reeve Foundation Quality of Life grant at the END of the Grant Application form (final report forms can be downloaded here). Final reports may also be uploaded using the "other" label in the attachments section of the online application.
Please note that prior grantees must now skip three grant cycles after the cycle the grant was submitted before reapplying. Therefore, 1st Cycle 2012 grantees and earlier are eligible to reapply in the 1st Cycle 2014; 2nd Cycle 2012 grantees are eligible to reapply in the 2nd Cycle 2014.
STEP 3: Using the information contained in your completed Quality of Life Grant Application, click here to access the online application and complete the requested information (this part of the application includes some repetitive information that needs to be collected for the grants database). The online application may be completed in multiple sessions. Prior to submitting the online application, you will be required to upload as attachments your completed Quality of Life Grant Application and a copy of your IRS 501(c)(3) Letter of Determination. Attachments may be submitted in Word or PDF format (Word preferred). Once you have started and saved online application, please access your saved application here.
