Individual Research Grants

The Reeve Foundation Individual Grants Program was founded on the understanding that effective treatments for acute and chronic spinal cord injury will involve carefully orchestrated multi-disciplinary interventions, each tailored to the individual patient. For this reason, the Individual Grants Program, the largest and most comprehensive of the Reeve Foundation research initiatives, supports investigator-initiated research on a variety of fronts, including axon growth and guidance, remyelination, cellular replacement, rehabilitation and neuroprotection.

Every research application submitted to the Reeve Foundation is reviewed by the Foundation's Science Advisory Council, a panel of senior neuroscientists who volunteer their time and expertise to evaluate proposals based on scientific merit, relevance to the Reeve Foundation's research priorities, and promise for clinical application. This rigorous process ensures that the Reeve Foundation funds only the most meritorious science that is targeted at developing effective therapies for paralysis and dysfunctions caused by spinal cord injury and other central nervous system disorders.
