Chicago, Our Kind of Town
October 12th, 2008 turned out to be another warm one for the athletes participating in the Bank of America Chicago Marathon. Temperatures reached the mid-80's, which to many is much too warm for a race of 26.2 miles.
It was Team Reeve's first year participating in Chicago. (Find out more about Team Reeve.) For many months, our athletes worked with Team coach Mark Zenobia to prepare for this grueling test of mental and physical endurance. Our runners may have blended in with the 33,033 participants, yet their stories and hearts soared as each of them ran in honor of a loved one. They beat the heat in the name of a brother, a son-in-law, a husband.
Their hard work and dedication paid off. All of our athletes finished the race between 4 and 5 1/2 hours. Read more about why our Chicago Team ran.
