Strong Winds Didn't Hold our Boston Team back!

Team Reeve BostonAlthough they had to combat headwinds of up to 30 mph, our Boston runners crossed the finish line with no problem.

Michael, Jim, Katie, John, John, James, Kate and Peter made us proud sporting “Team Reeve” and reaching their personal goals in the 113th running of the Boston Marathon. Their hard work will help us to support the 1 in 50 Americans living with paralysis.

Thank you Team Reeve Boston 2009!

Jim Austin, 50, from Greensboro, N.C. has been a member of Team Reeve since our inaugural team in 2005. This year, he ran Boston in honor of his cousin, George Buckner; mom, Georgia Austin; fiancée, Beth Deloria; and friend, Jena Sheehan.

John Mullaney

John Mullaney, 44, hails from Amston, C.T. Over the holidays, John met up with his college buddy, Greg Hughes, who asked him to consider running the marathon with us. John not only trained and raised money but also kept a phenomenal blog with details of his experience.

John McConnell, 54, resides in Manhasset, N.Y. John is our energizer bunny- he ran Team Reeve NYC in 2006 a year to the day after falling from his bicycle and fracturing his neck. Boston is John’s fourth marathon with us and he’s planning to come back in November for NYC again!

Kate Walsh

Kate Walsh, 26, is an Index Research Analyst in Boston, M.A. Kate was inspired to run with us by Glenn Mangurian, who was paralyzed almost ten years ago and is the father of her close college friend, Laura. She felt running 26.2 for Team Reeve was a small feat compared to the obstacles those living with paralysis face  every day.

James Tangaro, 43, from Sandy, U.T. qualified for Boston on his own, but amazingly offered to join Team Reeve and champion our mission too! James, who works for Tesoro Corporation, was thrilled by all the support he received from his family, friends and coworkers.

Katie Dickens, 29, is an Associate Beauty Editor for People StyleWatch in New York City, N.Y. She learned about Team Reeve through our mutual good friend, Francesco Clark.

Peter Wilderotter

Peter Wilderotter, 54, is the President & CEO of the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation. This is Peter’s third time finishing the Boston Marathon and somehow we don’t think his last!
