Born for Broadway is a cabaret gala benefitting the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation. The event showcases the performances of both established Broadway performers as well as up and coming talent.

Born for Broadway was created seven years ago as a student sponsored cabaret at Marymount Manhattan College, where Sarah Galli was enrolled as a performance major. Sarah created the show as a way to give back after her brother, Jeff, suffered a spinal cord injury in 1998 in a diving accident. He became a quadriplegic with a very similar injury to that of Christopher Reeve.

Born for Broadway gives renowned performers an opportunity to not only display their talent, but also raise money for a cause that celebrates the memory of two of the theatre community's most gallant and respected members, Christopher and Dana Reeve. And what better way to pay tribute to their Broadway roots?

The second annual Born for Broadway will be held Monday, October 4th at 8:00 p.m. at New World Stages, 340 West 50th Street, New York. Tickets now available to purchase! Once again featuring the work of director Marcia Milgrom Dodge (Tony nominee, "Ragtime") and musical director Larry Yurman ("Grey Gardens"), Born for Broadway is a one-night celebrity cabaret, featuring both established Broadway performers as well as undiscovered talent. Proceeds will benefit the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation.

Born for Broadway first began as a student-sponsored musical revue at Marymount Manhattan College, where Founder & Executive Producer Sarah Galli was enrolled as a performance major. Galli started the event as a way to involve the theatre community so beloved by Christopher and Dana Reeve. Galli's brother is a high level quadriplegic.

We were so thrilled and honored with the response from last year's gala," says Galli. Last year's event, which included performers ranging from Tony Awarded/Nominated to exciting newcomers, played to a sold out crowd of 500 patrons. This year promises another exciting evening-acclaimed performers Lesley Gore, Lillias White, and several members of the recent "Ragtime" revival -- Christiane Noll, Bobby Steggert, Robert Petkoff and Quentin Earl Darrington-- have already signed on. A full cast announcement will be made soon.
