Become a Team Reeve All Star
Is your family ready to become a Team Reeve All Star family?
All Star families are made up of caring individuals who want to make their family celebrations especially meaningful this year and help find cures and provide care for people living with spinal cord injuries.
Some families raise funds for paralysis research in lieu of gift exchanges at the holidays or for birthdays.
Other All Star families spend a day together cleaning out the garage, closets, attic and basement and hold a garage sell to get rid of those items no longer wanted. They then send the proceeds to the Reeve Foundation.
In other cases the kids organize a talent show for the next Labor Day barbeque or Thanksgiving dinner. The adults "buy" tickets and the proceeds go to support care and cures for paralysis.
Many All Star families use their creativity to find unique ways for the family to have fun and contribute to finding cures. It's a great opportunity to help others and teach the kids about giving back.
Sometimes families want to honor or remember a special family member. Twelve year-old Ilana Kleinfield wanted to honor her Uncle Jay who was paralyzed in a diving accident. She decided she would swim laps for the Reeve Foundation and ask her family and friends to sponsor her. A true All Star, Ilana swam 72 laps and raised more than $7,500 for research.
Your family can become a Team Reeve All Star family, too.
We can help you get started with our All Star Kit. It has ideas for what type of activity you might want to undertake and tips for organizing your event. We can also help you create an All Star webpage where you can let everybody know about your effort and easily collect donations made with credit cards.
You can take a look at our All Stars video and learn more about what caring All Stars have accomplished for people living with paralysis.
It's a fun way to spend time with your family and help find cures for people living with paralysis.
