CAMR
The Coalition for the Advancement of Medical Research (CAMR) is the nation's leading pro-cures coalition. It is comprised of nationally-recognized patient organizations, universities, scientific societies, and foundations advocating for the advancement of breakthrough research and technologies in regenerative medicine - including stem cell research and somatic cell nuclear transfer - in order to cure disease and alleviate suffering for individuals with life-threatening illnesses and disorders.

 

Unite 2 Fight Paralysis.org - Onward & Upward
Our mission is to unite and empower those physically disabled by paralysis, their families, and their supporters. We commit our skills to provide resources, tools, information and activities to strengthen the cure movement, with a particular focus on helping those physically disabled by paralysis to advocate for themselves. We further pledge to support the efforts of other organizations committed to the same objectives. We are committed to a "fight to the finish" that will bring full recovery to victims of paralysis. Life Rolls On Foundation
Life Rolls On is a non-profit Foundation that exists to be a grassroots resource and an advocate on behalf of young people who have sustained a spinal cord injury (SCI). Life Rolls On's mission is instilling in people that life with SCI does indeed roll on. The Life Rolls On Foundation is a member organization of the Christopher Reeve Action Network. Lifespan Respite Task Force - National Respite Coalition
The NRC task force seeks legislation to achieve universal availability and access of quality respite care for all caregivers who seek it, as well as widespread awareness and acceptance of caregiver needs. Respite care, which includes crisis care, provides temporary relief for caregivers from the ongoing responsibility of caring for an individual of any age with special needs, or who may be at risk of abuse or neglect. We're the official coalition of concerned citizens and organizations supporting the Missouri Stem Cell Research and Cures Initiative slated for the November 2006 state ballot. Independent Status for the NIH National Center for Medical Rehabilitation Research (NCMRR) Coalition
The goal of this initiative is to have Congress raise the NCMRR to independent status at NIH to achieve several objectives in line with the NIH Roadmap. The explicit directive of the institute would be a continuation of the NCMRR's statutory mission of planning and coordinating multidisciplinary rehabilitation and disability research both within NIH and across other federal agencies.

 

Independence Through Enhancement of Medicare and Medicaid Coalition
The ITEM Coalition is devoted to raising awareness and building support for policies that will enhance access to assistive devices, technologies and related services for people with disabilities and chronic conditions. The Coalition is consumer-led and has over seventy member organizations—including a diverse set of disability organizations, aging organizations, other consumer groups, labor organizations, voluntary health associations, and non-profit provider associations.

National Coalition for Disability Rights (NCDR): American Disabilities Act (ADA) Watch
The NCDR is a coalition made up of a network of disability rights, service, and consumer organizations united to protect and strengthen the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). ADA Watch is an informational online network designed to activate and unite the disability community's grassroots by educational and informational means in response to legislative threats and attempts to roll back civil rights protections for people with disabilities.

The Alliance for Taxpayer Access (ATA)
The ATA is a diverse and growing alliance of organizations representing taxpayers, patients, physicians, researchers, and institutions that support free online public access to taxpayer-funded research and peer-reviewed scientific articles funded by the U.S. Government using cost-effective methods and the Internet.  Enhanced access to and expanded sharing of information will lead to usage by millions of scientists, professionals and individuals, and will stimulate further discovery and innovation, advancing the translation of this knowledge into public benefits.
