Association on Higher Education and Disability® (AHEAD): Moving Ahead -- Transition Resources for Everyone
The successful transition of students with disabilities to, through and beyond college is a team effort. AHEAD offers the following to students, parents, professionals and employers so that all are aware of the wide range of resources that are available.

Division on Career Development and Transition (DCDT), a division of the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC)
Promotes career development and transition services for people with disabilities. The site has a comprehensive list of resources.

HEATH Resource Center at the National Youth Transitions Center
A collaborative effort among a network of professionals in the areas of disability, counseling, transition and postsecondary education.

Guidance and Career Counselors Toolkit: Advising High School Students with Disabilities in Postsecondary Options, PDF download from the HEATH Resource Center at the National Youth Transitions Center
This 192 page resource contains answers to counselors' most frequently asked questions about postsecondary opportunities for students with disabilities. Students and their families are encouraged use the toolkit to help guide their transition planning for college and career. It has been vetted by the U.S. Department of Education.

Providing online information, support, and professional development on topics related to the transition from school to adult life for youth with disabilities.

University of Montana Rural Institute: PASS Plans
PASS plans allow persons who receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) to set aside income and/or resources that SSI would usually count as income, and use that money to achieve a work-related goal.

Auxiliary Aids and Services for Postsecondary Students with Disabilities
Information from the U.S. Department of Education on the laws regarding auxiliary aids and services, examples of such aids and services, and the responsibilities of postsecondary institutions and students in provision of auxiliary aids and services.

National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR)
A component of the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS), is the main federal agency that supports applied research, training and development to improve the lives of individuals with disabilities.

Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)
A law ensuring services to children with disabilities throughout the nation. IDEA governs how states and public agencies provide early intervention, special education and related services to more than 6.5 million eligible infants, toddlers, children and youth with disabilities.
