Position Title: Marketing & Communications Associate

Organization and Position Summary:
Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation is dedicated to curing spinal cord injury by advancing innovative research and improving quality of life for individuals and families impacted by paralysis. The Reeve Foundation is a pioneer in the field of spinal cord injury (SCI) research and has funded $140 million in the laboratories of key thought leaders around the world. The Foundation is committed to building on the findings of decades of research and developing therapies that bring meaningful solutions to people with SCI. Its National Paralysis Resource Center (NPRC) provides the most comprehensive knowledge, tools, and services for individuals impacted by paralysis through dedicated Information Specialists, a substantial Quality of Life Grants Program, Peer & Family Support Program, Military and Veterans Program, Racial and Health Equity initiatives and Advocacy program.
Today, we seek a Marketing & Communications Associate who will work within the Marketing Communications team as a liaison to the National Paralysis Resource Center (NPRC) to help facilitate programmatic communications, marketing content and outreach, media relations etc.
About the Role:
This position is responsible for information gathering and creative development of collateral.They will also assist with tracking budgets and the production of data reporting.
Additionally, the individual will be responsible for performing job duties, interacting with the community and coworkers and managing themselves in a manner consistent with and in support of the organization’s mission and core values.
Major Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities for this entry level position include
- Act as primary point person for the NPRC for all marketing and communications needs including identifying key priorities and developing and implementing plans to achieve their marketing goals
- Collaborate cross-departmentally and with external vendors and agencies on larger projects, including marketing/conference collateral, publications and annual report, media outreach
- Work with external content contributors and community ambassadors to share their work/content on website and social media channels
- Collaborate closely with the Foundation’s Outreach and Education department on initiatives throughout the year
- Lend editorial assistance to produce compelling content for community outreach
- Execute strategic NPRC communications campaigns. Draft and edit media alerts, web content, blogs, newsletters, social media content and other publicity and promotional materials. Maintain consistent messaging and tone across platforms.
- Work with Digital Director and Digital Coordinator to maintain and update editorial calendar with content for all digital platforms with corporate partnership deliverables, events, blogs, news, etc.
- Assist with planning and execution of awareness campaigns, such as Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Awareness Month and Caregiver Appreciation Month
- Contribute to the planning and promotion of the annual Reeve Summit
- Provide as-needed communications support (occasionally in-person) at NPRC exhibiting opportunities, grantee site visits, etc.
- Work with Marketing-Communications team to prepare activity recaps and other reports (e.g., ACL and Board of Directors reports).
- Utilize customer relationship management system (HubSpot) and Google Analytics to gather data and make strategic communications recommendations. Knowledge of these tools is a plus; training will be provided.
Periodic Responsibilities include:
- Volunteer at Reeve events to help with tasks other than Marketing & Communications (registration, set-up, etc.)
- Participate in Reeve event committee meetings (Reeve Summit, Advocacy Summit, etc.)
- Provide backup front desk support (managing the phone system, greeting visitors, accepting packages, etc.)
Required Qualifications:
- Two-year college (Associate Degree) and 1-3 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in marketing or public relations environment
- Knowledge of current social media landscape and formats
- Experience managing multiple priorities simultaneously
- Ability to work cross-departmentally with multiple stakeholders
- Ability to advance projects independently
Preferred Qualifications:
- Four-year college (Bachelor’s Degree)
- Knowledge of HubSpot and Google Analytics
Language Skills:
Advanced level English reading, writing and verbal communication skills.
Computer/Technical Skills
Proficient with MS Office Suite

Travel: Approximately 10% travel to local, regional, or national conferences
Physical Demands/Office Environment:
This position is primarily a sedentary role but will have periods of physical activity. The person in this position may need to occasionally move about inside the office to liaise with internal staff, access files, office machinery and a copy machine/printer. As stated above, the position involves moderate travel.In addition, this person may need to be able to set up live events, including exhibit booths, stages for presenters and displays.They will need to be able to lift up to 10 lbs.
