Job Title: Program Assistant- Peer & Family Support Program

Job Summary:
The Peer & Family Support Program (PFSP) is the Reeve Foundation Paralysis Resource Center’s national peer to peer mentoring program. The goal of PFSP is to provide critical emotional support as well as local and national information and resources to people living with paralysis, their families and caregivers. The PFSP’s national network of certified peer mentors provides peer mentoring to both individuals living with paralysis and caregivers.

The Assistant helps the PFSP department in many aspects of the program. He/she will perform administrative duties related to communication with clients, certifying and training peer mentors, and database documentation and training.


  • Manage administrative tasks for the PFSP
  • Handle various tasks related to training and certification of peer mentors including contacting applicants and assisting with the application process, managing the background check process, participating in the training of peer mentors, etc.
  • Participate in Train the Trainer events including researching sites, contacting facilities, handling set up and logistics of event, etc
  • Assist in the growth of the Ambassador program including researching sites, assist peer mentor Ambassadors with logistics as they give presentations in rehab centers and trauma centers
  • Perform follow-ups after clients and peer mentors are matched to ensure they have met and all is progressing smoothly
  • Assist Director, PFSP in performing quality control on record documentation Train peer mentors on how to use the database and record their encounters with clients
  • Handle mailings of materials to clients, mentors, and partner organizations
  • Close records in the client database on an ongoing basis
  • Exhibit at national conferences to promote and explain the PRC’s services to various audiences and clients
  • Participate in testing new features/functionality of client database as needed
  • Participate in internal grant review as needed
  • Attend educational trainings and webinars on paralysis-related topics to further knowledge

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 1 year of relevant work experience
  • Must travel 2-4 times per year to exhibit at conferences
  • Demonstrated knowledge in the use of MS Office software and basic social media
