Act now: protect the Paralysis Resource Center

When Dana Reeve founded the Paralysis Resource Center (PRC) in 2002, she created a life-changing network of programs for the 5.4 million Americans living with paralysis. Over the years, we have helped hundreds of thousands of families navigate life after paralysis.

Despite its tremendous success and proven results, PRC funding was cut by 13 percent this year. We must band together to ensure that Congress restores and protects all future funding!

It’s imperative we let Congress know they can’t ignore the voices of the paralysis community, and we will not stand idly by as life-changing programs, like the PRC, are slowly stripped from the federal budget.

The PRC is the only program of its kind that directly serves individuals living with spinal cord injury, MS, ALS, stroke, spina bifida, cerebral palsy and other forms of paralysis. Over the years, our services have been a lifeline of support to those in need:

  • Information Specialists have assisted over 81,000 families living with paralysis with the ability to respond in real time in 170 languages
  • 250 peer mentors have been certified in 40 states and have mentored 5,700 peers
  • Over $21 million in grants have been awarded through the Quality of Life Grants Program to fellow nonprofits that promote greater care, health and independence
  • More than 190,000 copies of the Paralysis Resource Guide have been distributed
  • Since 2013, 7.2 million users have visited to access life-saving information

This is not a drill. Any cut to PRC funding will have a direct impact on our programs and the people we serve. So many of you have benefitted from our resources and have seen the importance of our work to improve the quality of life for all individuals living with paralysis.

We urge you to contact your Senators and Representatives TODAY and tell them to preserve funding for the Paralysis Resource Center. The process will take you just two minutes, but it can make a huge impact.

Our community needs the PRC. Without this funding, many will suffer without this vital support.

Act now to protect the PRC! Tell Congress that the paralysis community says NO to cuts.

Together, we are unstoppable.
