The Personal Care Attendant Guide – The Art of Finding, Keeping, or Being One by Katie Rodriguez Banister. Demos Health, 2006.

Katie Rodriquez Banister, a dynamic speaker, author, consultant and inventor shares her stories and best practices relating to personal care attendants for individuals with disabilities. “This unique book will equip individuals with disabilities, as well as their caregivers, with the skills to successfully find, interview, hire, train, and supervise their personal attendants.”

Katie survived an auto accident that left her a quadriplegic paralyzed from the chest down. After 21 months of rehabilitation and living with her parents, she returned to independent living. Drawing on her personal experiences, this quick read proves to be a great resource and story.
