New in the PRC Library …
The Burial Hour: A Lincoln Rhyme Novel. By Jeffrey Deaver. New York: Grand Central Publishing, 2017.
In The Burial Hour: A Lincoln Rhyme Novel, a businessman was seemingly snatched off the street in broad daylight from the Upper East Side of New York City. With only one witness, a young girl, and a small noose at the crime scene, this case takes an interesting turn—all the way to Italy.
A crime scene of this nature needed the best to capture the assailant. Who else could solve this crime but detective Lincoln Rhyme, who lives with quadriplegia, and Amelia Sachs. The magnitude of this heinous crime and the crime scene left Rhyme and Sachs perplexed but when a similar crime happens across international waters Rhyme and Sachs join forces with the Polizia di Stato or State Police of Italy, to find the culprit. Although this seems like a simple task, it appears certain people around the investigation are not whom they appear to be.
With the plot twists throughout this novel, it is sure to keep your wheels spinning and awaken the inner detective in you. Coincidently, due to the current state of politics, Deaver found a way to make the novel relevant and timely.
