As the summer season approaches, there are many wonderful activities that bring families together. At the Reeve Foundation, we want everyone to have fun, but make sure you and your loved ones are taking the proper precautions to avoid life-altering injuries. It is especially important to remind teenagers and young children about outdoor safety during this time of year.

Our Information Specialists (IS) are inundated with calls and emails from family members looking for resources and support due to the high number of injuries that usually occur during the summer months. In fact, over 40% of IS inquiries occur between May through September with many families reaching out for help as a result of a new injury.

That is why we have updated our Summer Safety Checklist for 2019 to download and share. While many of these tips may seem obvious, they can make a tremendous difference when it comes to your health and well-being. After all, spinal cord injury can happen anytime, anywhere and to anyone.

Our goal is simply to remind you that there are precautions your loved ones can take to fully enjoy the summer season. However, if you do need us, we are always standing by ready to help.

On behalf of everyone here at the Reeve Foundation, we hope you have a wonderful summer filled with new memories but don’t forget to play it safe.
