Understanding Medicare is important to those who currently qualify for health coverage through Medicare or may qualify in the future. With all of the rules and regulations of the program, sorting through all of the details can be a difficult process. To help make the Medicare process more manageable, the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation will be hosting a webinar about Medicare Advocacy on May 14.

The webinar will answer commonly asked questions regarding Medicare and discuss key topics such as:

  • Eligibility and enrollment in Medicare
  • What Medicare covers
  • Coordination of Medicare with other insurance
  • Focus on Medicare Coverage: Home Health Care
  • Focus on Medicare Coverage: Durable Medical Equipment
  • How to choose between traditional Medicare or a Medicare Advantage Plan

The webinar will be presented by Judith Stein and Kathleen Holt. Judith Stein is the Executive Director of the Center for Medicare Advocacy, which she founded in 1986. She has extensive experience in developing and administering Medicare and related advocacy projects and conferences, representing Medicare beneficiaries, producing educational materials, teaching and consulting. Kathleen Holt has served as Associate Director and attorney for the Center for Medicare Advocacy since 2014. She is an experienced hospital administrator with an MBA in healthcare management and currently serves on the Boards of Directors for Yale-New Haven Health System and Team Gleason.

The webinar will be held from 3 p.m.-4:30 p.m. EST on May 14. At the end of the hour-long webinar, there will be a live 30-minute Q& A session for attendees. The webinar will be recorded and posted for a re-viewing on June 13 at 3 p.m. EST for anyone who may have missed the original session. Once the pre-recorded session is over, attendees at the second viewing in June will also have the opportunity to ask questions during another live 30-minute Q&A session. Registration for the event can be found on the Reeve Foundation’s events page.
